Even though Swedish magic, variety, circus and other performing arts have got good international reputation and despite that Swedish performing arts are getting more popularity, it is not reflected in the Swedish media. That has not always been the case. For several decades the big newspapers had knowledgeable coverage of a lot of performing arts, but that coverage has diminished greatly, especially within the last 20 years.
Entire fields of cultural expressions are now ignored by Swedish cultural journalism. Whole artistic fields have been made completely invisible. Like it don’t even exist.
